O3 eLearning Platform and OERs

Output 3 was related to the creation of an eLearning platform addressed towards HE students, PhDs, postdocs, public administrations, professional associations, and practitioners.

The online platform has been designed to be:

  • An e-learning environment providing access to educational modules on climate resilience. The e-learning environment was developed using open-source software (Moodle).
  • A repository of materials produced during the project implementation and resources provided by the project partners.
  • A tool to communicate and disseminate project results.

InCLIMATE addresses one of the most urgent topics in the EU, where most countries dealing with climate risks lack a holistic approach to urban resilience and therefore higher education has an important responsibility in delivering such an approach. The InCLIMATE project partnership designed a modular online course which is available on the project eLearning platform. The aim of the InCLIMATE course is to provide educational methods and tools developed by the project partners to increase the interdisciplinary skills of students to address the challenge posed by climate change to urban areas. The course includes interdisciplinary educational materials on climate resilience, climate change, environmental management, energy efficiency and renewable energy, environmental impact on urban areas and urban policies.

The course is structured into the following two modules can be access through registration on https://elearning.inclimate.eu/

Module 1) Meaningful learning and Concept Maps which focuses on the Conceptual Mapping Technique and use of the CmapTools software.

Module 2) Multi-Level perspectives on Climate Change and Urban Resilience which covers different technical topics including green infrastructure, climate resilience polices and urban planning, energy infrastructure, energy efficiency interventions and renewable energy.

In addition to the modular course, the eLearning platform includes all the results achieved through the project outputs as well as a section dedicated to teachers’ resources which can be used by the project partners for further enriching the course resources and bibliography.
