The InCLIMATE Intensive Course for students was organised by MIEMA between the 23rd and 26th May 2022 in Valletta, Malta. The intensive course was structured around the use of concept maps and built upon the results of activity C1.
The Intensive course for students was essential to test the c-map tool and validate it as an OER, with the following added values:
– students were trained through a “modelling” exercise that can highlight interdisciplinary connections, improving their soft skills and learning to positively interact with students from different backgrounds;
– participants were given the opportunity to valorise their previous knowledge and acquire new knowledge, applying both to a concrete case study;
– students were trained to connect local geographic conditions to possible solutions, taking into account the multiple aspects of resilience under a holistic approach.
Around 40 students from project partner universities attended the intensive course in Valletta. The course enabled participants to acquire interdisciplinary knowledge and skills in the fields of climate resilience, including urban and regional planning and policies, climate adaptation and mitigation, climate risk management, environmental and resilience assessment, energy efficiency and renewable energy. The overall result of the course was the application of an interdisciplinary approach that can result in more opportunities for research or employment and better professional placement both in the public and the private sectors.
